Fillers

Fillers

Currently we use two fillers - JUVÉDERM™ Injectable Gel and Radiesse®.
Both are used to fill in wrinkles that are seen when the face is at rest (not moving). These are the wrinkles you can see when you look in the mirror without making any "faces". They can also be used to fill in scars, plump up lips or even reshape the nose or do a facelift.

JUVÉDERM™ Injectable Gel lasts for 6 months. It is an exact copy of the substance found in your joints, thus it is very safe and natural. It is used mostly for plumping lips, but also can be used for filling in wrinkles. We use topical anesthetics before the injections and, for the lips, anesthetics used just like your dentist. There is usually mild swelling and redness of the area for 1-3 days. People are back to work the next day.

Radiesse lasts for 1 year or more. It is an exact copy of one of the substances found in your bones. Again, very safe and natural. Radiesse is used mostly for filling in wrinkles such as those on upper lips, between the nose and mouth, and elsewhere. Radiesse can also be used to provide a nonsurgical facelift and nonsurgical nose job. As we get older we all loose fat pads under the eyes and cheeks. This causes the skin to sag down. Radiesse is carefully injected in key areas to restore the look of fuller cheeks and remove eye hollows. Nose reshaping is done by injecting in the skin of the nose to smooth out divots, creases, etc. It cannot reduce the size of the nose however. As with JUVÉDERM, topical and injectable anesthetics are used to make the procedures more comfortable. Swelling is common and lasts for 2-3 days. Usually back to work in 2-3 days.
